I searched around for quite a bit trying to find some decent quality pillowcases. I have to admit, I’m a little dubious about the number of thread counts purported in some of these listings on Amazon. After all it should stand to reason that if theses pillow cases are 400TC they wouldn’t perhaps be as soft or thick as say the Sapphire 800TC or Pizuna 600TC pillow cases I also bought at the same time. Right? Wrong! Although the lowest TC of the three I bought on Amazon these Linens 400TC pillowcases are softer (after a couple of washes) and seem thicker - a better quality cotton overall. I’m not saying they are the best I’ve ever laid my head on - but for the price I paid (about £7.70) they are worth the money and I would certainly (and have) bought them again. They are noticeably softer and a little thicker cotton than the 800TC and 600TC pillowcases mentioned above and ideal too for the kids beds.I've bought this product in the past and it's been lovely smooth, thick cotton. This time it's cotton satin - something not mentioned in the product description - and much thinner. It's not what I wanted or expected given the high-quality of the product I bought from the same company five years ago. On one hand, the price/quality/laziness index means I'm not going to bother returning it. But I certainly wouldn't recommend that anyone else buys it.I bought these sheets in December 2013, they felt fine when unpacked, but by January they had started to pill horribly and had gone bobbly and have since become a lot worse. I have bought many other 400 count products from other suppliers and they have lasted for years with no pilling. I was extremely disappointed to see this after a few months with just a few washes.I reported the problem to the seller but they said as it was past the 30 days they could not do anything. I think they are fraudulently describing these as good quality Egyptian Cotton when they are just some cheap substitute.Buyer beware ! If you notice a problem report it before 30 days, but I would not hold your breath for a refund.I am normally a very positive person and these sheets had a lot of good reviews so I thought the negative ones were just being picky. How wrong I was. I will buy from a reputable store in future, someone who values their reputation.Lovely sheets. They feel good and they certainly wash and iron beautifully. The only reason I gave them a four star and not five is because there is no large turn over ar the top which is not essential but something we are used to and like. Amazing for the price and I have recommended them to friends.I usually buy king size for my double bed so I have enough to ‘tuck in’ but if you do this I would recommend you stick to the double as they are a generous size, king is just far too bigI’ve bought from this company for years, towels sheets etc. The quality of these is second to none. Unlike other of the same bought from you, these feel so luxurious I can’t believe how nice they are.
